United Way is looking to the future as our community needs continue to grow.

Our vision is to be the critical link in our community which brings together all community participants to build a stronger, healthier and more sustainable community as cost effectively as possible. We strive to actively lead our community in identifying priority needs and convene the appropriate parties to address them.

Your gift is a sound investment benefiting you and your family today, and will serve those in need in our community in the future. Although most individuals do not make contributions to United Way for tax related reasons, you may find that you and your family will significantly benefit from laws governing charitable contributions, especially as they relate to estate and qualified retirement plan taxes.

In return for your trust in us, we promise to maximize the impact of every dollar you invest in our community, your money will be wisely spent, and we will be a responsible community member and report back to you on our progress.

Donors have several options available when wishing to contribute to the United Way of Southern Kentucky. We understand that no one method of giving fits all donors. Therefore, for the convenience of our supporters, we make available several options:

Planned Giving

For many people, philanthropic giving is a lifelong commitment that provides both personal satisfaction and financial benefits. In addition to planting a seed that will continue to grow for generations to come, there are financial incentives that may apply to planned giving.
A charitable planned gift is the result of careful and thoughtful structuring of one’s estate to benefit one or more charitable organizations. Such a gift is commonly asset-based rather than from current income and often involves a planning process utilizing the services of legal and financial professionals (i.e., estate and tax planning attorneys, accountants and investment advisors). A planned gift can be given in many ways, including cash, charitable trusts, life insurance, retirement plans, bequests, appreciated property, charitable gift annuities and donor-advised funds.
