Read United is Scheduled for Wednesday, March 3rd & Thursday, March 4th.
Celebrated during Read Across America Week, Read United promotes the importance of literacy and encourages a love for reading among children. We are very excited to link local volunteers with local child care facilities, pre-schools, and Head Starts to read in classrooms. The children love having guest readers that encourage them to foster a love for reading, an integral part of our School Readiness work.
Feed the Need Internal Company Food Drive: February 1- March 12
In-store Food Drive: March 12- March 13.
The region wide food drive began in 2009 to fight food insecurity in the BRADD region. Since then, over 1,000,000 items have been collected for local food pantries and nonprofits. Participation can be through facilitating internal food drives and/or assisting at the in-store food drives at your local grocery stores.
The annual Day of Caring for 2027 is scheduled for Wednesday, July 28.
Volunteers from local businesses and organizations will have the opportunity to pair with local nonprofits and public schools to tackle meaningful volunteer projects. Projects include everything from painting, landscaping, advocacy, hosting a drive, kindergarten readiness, and more! Volunteers have the opportunity to be an invaluable asset to local nonprofit agencies by completing projects that might not get done otherwise.
